2D Animation Projects

Exploring 2D animation has been my focus over the past few years. I have worked on multiple shorts and micro-shorts, both in teams and solo. I’ve included the final animations as well as a small gallery of design, concept, or behind the scenes progress images for each project.

Dress Coded

This PSA short was done in a small group of 4 people. Our chosen theme was unfair treatment of girls in schools based on what they wear. My role was color design and backgrounds, so below is a gallery of the color script, character designs, and background designs for the film.

Dog Toy

This micro-short was done by myself and one other animator. We started and ended with a square and the middle could be anything we wanted; it just had to last 5 seconds. The initial character design and the rough animation was done by my partner, while I did the color work, final design look, and the final ink and paint for the short.

Homewrecker

This micro-short was done by myself and one other animator. The theme was “wrecking ball” and we wanted to make an 8-10 second short. My partner for this project handled the initial idea, the storyboard, and the character animation. I took care of the background work, the color design, and the house and wrecking ball animations. Below are some different background concepts and the final designs and colors.

Late Night

This is a solo project done in After Effects. I was going for lo-fi vibes, and I wanted to draw a character and rig them in AE. I based mine off of a youtube content creator I watch named Valkyrae and I included her dog Mika. I drew the background and character assets and separated the character for rigging in Procreate on my iPad, and then I imported all of the assets into AE to assemble, rig, and animate them.

More Animation

This project was redesigning an existing character into an alter ego. I found a movie quote to animate and lipsync to. I made Underdog into a villain and gave him a Thanos quote from Avengers: Infinity War.

This is an After Effects animation of a tiny landscape that follows the theme of my parent’s converted sprinter van they travel in.

This is an After Effects logo animation of my middle name. All of the drip assets were made in Procreate on my iPad, and the rest was assembled and animated in AE.
